If Windchill later on sends a delete message for this bill of material line with quantity 2,34567, D365 FO will subtract this delete-quantity from the existing quantity, so 2,35-2,34567, leaving 0,00433. This will result in a bill of material line in D365 FO with quantity 0.00 (rounded), whereas you would expect the bill of material line to be completely removed.
To solve this problem, the bill of material quantity sent by Windchill will always be automatically rounded according to the settings of the unit of measure on that bill of material line. Only in the exceptional case where you would change the number of decimals on the unit of measure between creation and deletion, you could still run into trouble.
